I came out to my cupcake about my crossdressing and my attraction to men when I was age 23 (I'm now 31), and that's when I started dressing in female clothing full-time, including when I went out. My cupcake has been very supportive of me.
I started off building up to being more feminine in going out. When I first began dressing en femme, I wore all women's clothing, but it looked sort of androgenous. Now I wear obviously feminine clothing and accessories when going out, including carrying a purse.
I don't attempt to "pass" as a genetic woman; rather, I simply present myself as the feminine person that I am. Although most people don't seem to notice, and those who do are very nice to me.
I'm much happier living my life as an out-of-the-closet sissy. I feel so much freer and such a burden has been lifted from my shoulders now that I don't have to try to pretend being butch.
