"VNV" stands for "Victory Not Vengeance".

That reminds me of something near and dear to my own heart. "Carney", in addition to being an old-timey spelling for carny, such as a carnival-barker announcing the sights in a grotesque freak-show, is also a Gaelic surname meaning Victory or Victorious. Sort of like those optical illusions which pop back and forth between being their opposite configuration depending on how one looks at it.

And my birth-surname being Donley. I've had many different names over the ages. Though in mulling over these nominal matters, this all imparts an amusing conception to me. Perhaps given some of my names, I incorporate a bit of the elvish, fairyish Gaelic spirit in me.

You're right, Jamie Michelle. They were clearly fetish stores rather than your run-of-the-mill vanilla "adult stores". There was top end bondage gear there, proper satin "sissy dresses", and so much more. I was so sad to learn they had closed. I heard there was a fabulous one in Toronto and a Fetish Ball too that they went to with their clients as sort of moral support. Another I didn't get to sadly.

They didn't sell clothing, just toys. I've been to lingerie stores, such as a Victoria's Secret in Manhattan. One store that I would have liked to have visited is a Frederick's of Hollywood, but they had closed their stores by the time I was thinking about visiting one in New York.
