Regarding the chocolates, my husband purchased them in this posh and exclusive high-society, haute culture boutique called Dollar General. You know, the type of place that doesn't allow the general riff-raff in.

My husband was surprised that a 10.4 ounce box of real (not imitation) chocolates was being sold for $2. They're made by a brand named Elmer Chocolate, which we had never heard of. The box says they've been around since 1855. We wondered if they would be any good. It turns out that they're quite good! The Elmer Chocolate company is located in Louisiana, which abuts Texas, the state that I'm from.

So in addition to gumbo, jambalaya, and Tabasco Sauce, we can now add Elmer Chocolate to the list of fine Louisianian exports.
